PONDEROSA CHARITIES INC. MISSION STATEMENT

 

This public charity 501c3 formed in 2008. It was formed to assist the Catholic Church and Catholic Charities in the Reno/Sparks area. Since 2008 it has assisted multiple catholic non profits in fund raising through fundraising events including golf tournaments with grants to Make a Wish;  feeding the needy through Reno Shelter Initiative;  distributing 100,000 pounds of food annually through the Sprouts initiative; and, within the last 3 years has fundraised  a scholarship endowment to assist young high schoolers to attend private Catholic education and Bishop Manogue High School.

The need is great since the State of Nevada has a limited voucher system through grants capped at $5700 from the State’s Education Savings Account.  The endowment has raised $32,752.00 within the last three years. 

How it works

Your individual or corporate tax donations to this educational endowment will support these young men and women. With your donation, the IRS excludes individual gifts from the Federal gift tax up to $19,000 in 2025. Your donation will help a young person to attend a quality private High School.  For example, Bishop Manogue Catholic High School graduating seniors have a 99% success rate for obtaining college scholarships.  

This exclusion is available per person per year. Whether individuals or corporate donations to a 501c3 the tax donations are usually capped at 30% to 50% of the AGI.
